you could literally just fill in the blanks with whichever UFC champion wins more than two fights in a row :skip:

love the UFC and they do most things right ... but they are absolutely AWFUL when it comes to claiming who is the "GOAT" in their sport ..... they go full retard and overblown anytime a champion wins more than one damn fight :mjlol:

it honestly cheapens the title and the sport when they do that :yeshrug:

To me it makes it more important they sell that the UFC is the best of the best and to even get to a championship fight you have to go through the best of the best of the weight class so someone becoming champ and defending reiterates that especially in the Heavyweight division where until recently the record for consecutive successful defenses was TWO since the start.

This is a real interesting situation with the UFC right now.

No matter what “organized fighting” cannot escape its slave fighting roots.

Dana is a modern day slave owner, like it or not.

Ngannou was his prized buck that got too uppity. And idk how this turns out.

The UFC will make an example out of him. Either he takes the bullshyt pennies they offer him or Dana will cut him.

And DO NOT be surprised if Dana cuts him and completely fukks him over to make it so that he’ll never fight again in the UFC.

After that well I hope his contingency plan works out.

Ngannou bet on himself and won. But he bet on himself in a game the CACS control, they could flip the table at any time.

I hope it works out for dude, he’s a man of principle so I hope he doesn’t take a bullshyt concession and takes a hard stand against this slave-like treatment.

Francis is a free agent now correct. That knee surgery will sideline him probably for the rest of the year. If someone like Fury is interested, set a mega fight with him next year and cash out/retire.

Francis is also 35, I’m glad he bet on himself. No matter many fighters call Dana out. From a media perspective he always comes out unscathed.

There are other fighting organizations but not on the level of UFC. ESPN won’t be impartial because of the deal they have with them.

Just crazy how fighters are saying how broke they are.

Dana is so evil, that if there was ever a breakthrough with fighter pay, I could see him cashing out and leaving.

Yeah he definitely should fight Fury.

Hell, I’d even tell him to reach out to Wilder. I feel like breh would throw him a bone. Hell, he threw one to Ortiz and Fury.

It would be crazy seeing them do some rumble in the jungle shyt in Africa. Wilder coming out as an Edo warrior :wow:

Now THAT is a MOTHERFUKKING exhibition!!!

Francis isn’t a free agent until they strip him from the belt. Since he’s a champ he has a clause that he’s with the ufc for a year

Dana's so full of shyt. What the fukk else could've came up that was so important that he couldn't be in the ring to put the belt on him? Have we ever not seen him out there to do that.

White: Not putting belt on Ngannou not personal

Many speculated that White did not do those things because Ngannou and the UFC are embroiled in messy contract negotiations. On Wednesday, White said that was not the case, explaining that he had something to deal with backstage and was not able to make it back to the Octagon in time. White did not go into detail about what he had to do in the back that prevented him from returning for the main event.

"For anybody that thinks I was showing any kind of disrespect towards Francis -- I saw Francis all week, you idiots," White told Sanko. "I shook his hand, I said hi to him. I was out there for the staredowns, the whole thing."

White did attend the prefight news conference and the ceremonial weigh-ins as usual, facing the fighters off on stage for both events.

White said in the interview that he has missed pay-per-view main events before, referencing UFC 199 in June 2016. On that night, White was backstage having reporter Ariel Helwani and other then-members of the MMAFighting.com staff removed from The Forum in Los Angeles and pulling their UFC media credentials because of a scoop Helwani broke earlier in the evening.

Ngannou and the UFC have been at odds over his contract for almost a year. If Ngannou lost to Gane, he would have been a free agent. But because of the UFC's champions clause, he remains under UFC contract for the span of one year or three fights, whichever happens earliest. Ngannou has said he wants to have the ability to box written into his UFC contract, which has not been done before.

Ngannou has said he's willing to hold out and not fight for the entire year in order to become a free agent. In an interview on "The MMA Hour" on Monday, Ngannou said the UFC threatened to sue his agent, Marquel Martin of CAA, in an email sent Saturday night, just hours before the Gane fight. The UFC allegation was that Martin discussed Ngannou going into boxing with Jake Paul's business partner, Nakisa Bidarian, while Ngannou was still under UFC contract.

Regarding Ngannou's victory Saturday night, White praised the champion for his strategy, using his wrestling and grappling to overtake Gane after being down on the scorecards early. Ngannou is known for his punching power, not his ground game.

"I don't think anybody expected Francis to come in and wrestle," White said. "Brilliant game plan by Francis to do what he did the way that he did it."

Ngannou needs surgery to repair a damaged MCL and ACL in his right leg and will likely be out for at least nine months, Martin told ESPN's Brett Okamoto on Wednesday.

White said in the interview with Sanko that he'd like to have Ngannou defend against all-time great Jon Jones next. White called it a "big fight," adding "if it's possible to get it done."
