:hula: She married a white guy to get farther in the power structure and lost. Oh well.

Yea that white guy sure helped her become a Rhodes scholar, get the degree from Stanford, and two degrees from Oxford.

:comeon:

One of the most qualified women in FP in the US aside from Hillary.

Meh...mixed emotions.
She's definitely qualified, but I didn't think she had the right "touch" for the position.
Plus Clinton-era FP was lacking, and I'm not gung ho about the same players being in the Obama administration.

I think too big a deal is being made about the Scott Brown thing. If he runs again, he's gonna be forced to the center. If MA votes for him, that's what the people want. Going from 55 to 54 senators caucusing with the democrats won't make much of a difference. They're not at 60, and maybe Harry Reid will actually make use of the "constitutional" option.

Usually I wouldn't care but come on, there are lots of black people with her credentials minus the rhodes scholar and they have not got as far. It makes Obama look better to drop this now and find someone not controversial like John Kerry or another black person.

A partner in a prestigious law firm with a degree from Yale and Wellesley before she met her husband :comeon:

This is like saying who is Michelle without Barack Obama?

They were both already accomplished in their own right. Entering into the political sphere gained her more notoriety, but pretending like the woman wasn't already part of that top 1% of educated females in the country with accomplishments under her belt in a male dominated industry is a fallacy.

You are kidding yourself. She also served under Clinton and spent years working in politics.

Her husband had nothing to do with her earning those degrees and getting those appointments.

And no there aren't a lot of Black people with her credentials. Colin Powell, Condoleeza Rice off the top of my head, but she is in their league. She is an incredibly educated and accomplished women.

You guys ever read about or followed this woman before she became US Ambassador to the UN and this shyt started?

Accomplished does not equal power........

You gotta be in the right circle for that..

Same reason why Barack is biracial and raised by his white mom exclusively

Same reason why she married a white guy as opposed to a nikka that looked like Mike Vick

I did. I only found out about the marriage recently. I tend not to focus on personal lives despite my postings(at times). I felt sierra leone and Rwanada could have been done better but otherwise she has done a great job.
