social media is just a reflection of who you already are
people saying negative things are on their timeline but its because that what they entertain
if you are into science, all science will be on your timeline
if you are into history all history
but most people are into ignorance and gossip so that is all that is on their timeline

I mean yeah and no.

Example: When I tried to use Instagram for the first time in a while last year, I hearted content that mattered:

  • Koalas
  • Gaming related stuff
  • Art
  • Nature

What I get in the recommends:

  • Ugly ass wombats
  • Gamer girl fetish bullshyt
  • Couple goals
  • ASS ended life hacks
Like :why: WTF?!? It's not even about the stumbling upon nature of the algorithm, its grooming the masses into embracing what they are being told to embrace.

My social media is mostly comic art, politics, and women who are one cheeseburger away

I use social media on different accounts on different devices
and the feeds are all very different from each other, intentionally
the world is not small at all; people just live in their bubbles
There are so many different things to give your attention to
Block and uninterested are your friends

So your opinion changes based on the comments you read?
This is the real problem. people just need to learn to think for themselves. This really shouldn't make a difference to you one way or the order.
As independent as we may try to be, we're still social beings whose thoughts are influenced by what's around us

AI should not have 1st Amendment rights, that's for sure

i don't have a instagram account but that is possible. to do proper testing she would hve to check if theres any comment sort setting and also see what comments are shown to non-registered users.

the comments in the video have 10's of thousands heart likes so and the comments number in the hundreds, it's easy for featured comments to change with that many people interacting to a post.

My boy was active on IG for years, and he told me he dropped it last year or 2 years ago when reels came out.

he said the algorithim sent him nothing but like sexy IG model videos and guys fighting

that was in the explore page.

edit: this was in September 2021

Yup… Same with YouTube…. Certain content is pushed significantly harder than others…. You can watch 3 videos discussing the civil rights movement from 3 different content creators and you won’t get a single recommendation from YouTube about the same topic or something similar….. However, you can watch 4 minutes of a red pill video and your recommendations will be flooded with red pill content

Breh, the "kids" section is damn near satanic :picard: . All those live 24/7 channels with the most disgusting and horrific content known in existence:

  • Frozen characters with BBLs
  • Parents exploiting their children with overkill toys and reactions
  • Spiderman costume freaks dropping it like it's hot
  • Mickey Mouse and em cursing and talking about pregnancy tests
There's some poor child right now staring into the screen watching this foolishness, while their parents treat the tablet like a personal nanny. Yet, they wonder why these kids are so on the plug, zombified and lost.

Whats the point of creating good family friendly content or insightful content, when trauma porn, death, violence, and ass gets the algorithm making dope moves.
