I'm against it as well, but I'll never tell someone else how to parent their children. What's even worse are the parents who brag about whooping their kids.

I’ve been around parents laughing about straight up knocking out their teenage kids before and it made me sick. I’m not gonna judge someone for light spanking when a child is young but a lot of parents cross the line. I’ve seen too many examples of kids being raised right without having a finger laid on them to believe that corporal punishment is necessary.

Above the fray.
And sociopaths come in and make light of a father punching his ten year old in the face. Wish it was surprising, but it's not.
Anything goes on this site. Shucking and jiving might as well be considered a sport here.

Used to upset me. But MFers are who they are, and board has an ignore member option.

I don't think a received as much as a light spanking after the age of 5 from my parents. They built my respect for them without needing fear of any physical punishment.

I got hit once growing up, my younger brothers never got hit and all three of us grew up to be responsible adults. I’ve never understood the notion that kids need the threat of physical harm to grow up with discipline.

It's just a bigger person bullying a smaller person. You see this in all areas of life. If a person has a physical advantage, they may use it against you. Mothers only beat their sons until the son gets too big for it. Then the power shifts.

It's definitely not about respect or discipline cuz half these kids who get their ass beat grow up to be disrespectful and violent towards others ---- just like they were raised. If an adult can't use their words and wisdom to get their kid in line, they probably aren't fit to be parents in 2022.

And in my experience, actions speak louder than words. Kids aren't stupid. If their parents aren't leading by example, they not gonna listen to what's coming out their mouth.
