Was just thinking this. Before him dying I don't think I ever saw a thread about him on here or him even being mentioned.

R.I.P though
There was a thread last week about him shading and disrespecting other musicians on national TV. but that was about it.

You ever sit and think that maybe, just maybe, the majority of people talking about him and paying respects right now really were impacted by his death? The man was a cornerstone of black music and culture as we know it today. He's influenced a shyt ton of artists for decades. Of course his death was going to have a major impact on people, a lot of these people had grown up on prince or have parents who did and put them on to him. Yes, his death is gonna make a lot of people reminisce and yes, they're gonna do everything from looking up his tracks and live sets online to busting out the cassettes, vinyl, cds and purple rain vhs/dvds.

There is, that goes without saying. But still, this is the death of a musical and cultural icon. Who are you to determine who's fans or who's being pretentious?

There were Prince threads being made weekly before his death :dwillhuh:

Just because you lil nikkas ignored those threads don't mean they don't exist :dwillhuh:

Fantasy.
He was loved. I don't know one person who doesn't know who Prince is. American as well as people from other places. He was just one of those artist that could transcends language culture and a host of things. His music and impact was that great. Even if some people are being fake at least these younger kids are learning who Prince is. His music will stay alive.

if you not around or associate with people that like prince why would you hear about him yes nikkaz don't talk about nikkaz 24/7 but prince get talked about just as other musicians do if thats the type of music you listen to and when a nikkaz pass you gotta respect the art, the work put in and the longevity and on top of all of that just the fact that he was self respected which made others respect him cause of all the things he's done for humanity y'all try and figure out why someone gets respected out of nowhere but its not if you just do your research thats whats wrong with a lot of people today

:snoop: these threads

Just because someone wasn't a fan doesn't mean they can't show respect to someone who's a legend. Doesn't mean they didn't care before, it just wasn't on their mind. We don't know when people are going to die. His death will gain him loads of new fans who will be encouraged to listen to his old stuff.

These dudes just want attention, they do this everytime somebody dies and act surprised that people want to pay homage and celebrate their lives. :rudy:

Here's a thread made like three days before he passed that got a lot of responses:
