If xxtentancion came out as a rock artist would his album or tracks be seen the same or accepted the way it is now.. It seems like joe or other people like it cuz no one mainstream is using rock influence currently in their songs.. I heard 3 tracks it just comes of tryhard to me.
Well Uzi has that kinda influence too and Rae Sreemund had it in black beatles but not to the level X did with his joint. Only other person who went that far with it was Cudi.

I think if thats how X is gonna come in the future he should just make that transition to rock music.

I listened to XXX album, and I'm not compelled to listen to it again. It was cool for what it was. But again not what I would call Hip Hop.

I get what you mean with Rae and Cudibut XXX seems like hes trying to disguise his music as experimental rap music when its really just mediocre teenage angst rock music. What im saying is If XXX did the rock circuit instead of coming on the scene as a rapper would his music be seen the same way

Good question, As I said I think he should go that route fully if this is what he continues to do because it's dishonest for him to claim hiphop when he is making this kind of stuff. He is just marketing himself as a rapper but if he continues to make music like this then he is doing it purposely just to help his brand.

He probably wont be as big on the rock scene.

well no
cause the singing and trap stuff (i dont wanna do this anymore//look at me) is what got him popping lol, jesus you guys need to think more

how can someone that is in the rock lane even get a look from the rap world? it wouldn't happen

x isnt making experimental rap, everything hes doing has been done before, experimental is iust when you're doing something out of the norm , the thing with x is that he wants to prove he can make all genres of music and make it look easy and stand out from the popular new gen of rappers eg. playboi carti, uzi vert etc , this is why you have him making mumble rap then switching to pop with diplo then switching to depression singing then switching to the singing folk rock style then switching to earl sweatshirt type rap

once u guys understand this then you will understand the next moves he makes

people who listen to rock are actually shytting on the album in terms of reviews. pitchfork basically said it was mediocre and egg headed fantano straight shytted on the album.

rock is in a pretty bad place right now (in terms of the mainstream). if x initially came out as a rock artist (well he would need his own band first), he would def not get the exposure that he's getting. he got noticed by making trap music and a lot of his fans thought there were getting a trap album at first but he surprised him with something that they're not used to hearing.
