I wonder if we gonna see people checking Noisey and Vice for their role in the "war in chiraq". I'd pay money to hear Vic Mensa say he gonna smack the producers at Noisey.

i agree w/ everything cept the last part. ak sat right there and looked at vic and gave his perspective and waited for vic to respond. vic said what he said but wouldnt even look that dude in the face. i get not going back at a nigg that call you a bytch. i couldnt stay professional there, but i also give him credit for not crawling into a hole after he got blindsided by a nigg that sat down next to him and gave him no heads up that there was bad energy on his side.

All poverty porn that saw the Vice & Noisey "make money off Chiraq" which appears to be the greatest point of contention.
To say that the way these videos are framed with their titles isn't intended to make light of the violence is wrong. This is clearly a form of entertainment.
I have yet to see someone threaten to smack these people in the face.
It's not quite the same. Yea you can find it a bit problematic but they aren't exactly covering it like they are making light of the violence imo. I honestly don't see it as that. The terrifies the city headline makes it sound a bit like they're making Durk to be some kind of monster but the content of the video isn't some big bad wolf Durk shyt tho. I don't see a problem with the other titles tho
. You could say the videos might come across like they are glorifying some but that's mainly due to the artists' actual music.I think people can understand it being some kind of entertainment. The difference between the Akademiks shyt and noisy is they were actually there just filming. The screenshots someone would have a problem with them showing it but that isn't exactly the problem. Akademiks was talking about it these dudes deaths and the fukkery like it was funny. Violent culture is always going to be intriguing to folks. That's America for you. No one should be mad at Ak for covering it. It's the nature of your coverage.

He did. They had to do a follow-up episode that included a townhall with Chicago residents getting on Noisey's case for the way they exploited "Chiraq"
negativity and didn't show much of the positive stuff.
When they aired this episode initially on Vice they showed bonus scenes before commercials and Vic Mensa was on there calling them out for pitting drill (Keef/Durk) vs. the good guys (Chance/Vic). He stated they were all intertwined because he grew up with and was friends with those drill rappers. I wish those clips were online but here's the followup where Vice got called out.
