SOHH Class of 2006

When a chick gives you her IG, FB, twitter before her digits consider yourself curbed officially. If she give AF about you she dropping them digits cause she wants to get with you.

If she's not into you, she'll drop the social media cause it's a nice way of getting rejected without outright getting rejected. Basically it's a number to wait in line. I knew what the game was when a chick gave me her myspace URL back in 2006 and I never bothered to entertain that BS either.

Deactivated mine back in November when I started my job search. That hunt is finally coming to an end in a few weeks but I will leave the Facebook as it is.

I almost never posted on there and I only updated my profile pic every 2-3 years. Spent too much time everyday on my phone looking at others artificial lives and low-key drama, when I had my own goals I needed to reach. When I get back on Facebook/Twitter it will be for business purposes.

if it wasn't for the asymmetry between ppl's real lives and their "facebook" lives I was witnessing there, then I probably wouldn't have deleted it. it turned into another platform for lies, one-up-manship and fakery so i was like eeh. plus, honestly i'm kind of a private guy. the only social media i have are linkedin (for career advancement), twitter (see linkedin) and snapchat? the last one i only have because it's a conduit to hoes (so I'm being pragmatic). I think the issue with social media is you have to have a clear understanding of what you are using it for for it not to get out of hand.

I've said I'd get rid of my FB like 3x already, but since I got a lot of fam and friends who have moved etc, I keep it...just to keep in touch. But I know I go weeks without even checking it. I still think i'll get rid of it 1 day tho

It has a practical use, so I wouldn't feel bad about "having it". As much as ppl like to rag on facebook, it has its uses. What you shouldn't do is do stuff like airing out your dirty laundry there for all to see.

A few months into my deactivation. I will log in from time to time to check in on my sister and mom. They will only tell you so much in person so i gotta see what they post. Other than that my shyt stays deleted. Def lost track with EVERYBODY except my girl :yeshrug:

your girl? honestly, bro that's kind of depressing. i'd like to think that i'd keep at least one genuine friend in the multitude of "friends" i have now.

Had dudes I hated in HS sending me friend requests :dahell:

Had my extended family studying my every move :upsetfavre:
Had girls from HS inboxing me that they used to have a crush on me :skip:

Deleted my account back in 2013 :blessed:

You know a easy solution to that is *gasp* don't confirm the friends request, and don't post everything about your life :ohhh:

not a diplomatic solution. it reinforces the hostility. kinda like how jay z wanted nas on a dead presidents remix but he blew him off, and so started one of the greatest beefs of the late 90s / early 2000s.

I haven't used it in a while. Is there an easy way to delete everything off it before I shut it down?

there's a way you can permanently delete it instead of just deactivating which will delete all your info for good after two weeks

How to permanently delete your Facebook account

be careful with this though cause once it's gone it's gone for real, i did this before and ended up making a new account :snoop: lost all type of dope shyt
