ban instagram
imagine what instagram, KUWTK, housewives of "rich dudes" etc would have done for the mental health of field-bound serfs during feudal times.
a direct line to observe the upper-feudal classes, who have everything that you don't.
fresh food, nice beds, medicine, swimming pools, holidays, boats, leisure, holidays etc.
there would have been mass depression followed by a revolution.
No help to advance yourself either unless you're an immigrant.Too much work, not enough time to enjoy/express yourself outside of it
I've dealt with depression for over 15 years and it's started from a traumatic experience where I got jumped by 5 people on the way to a college party and was nearly killed.
Social media is the reason not even a question
Was just saying this today since The three day weekend makes today a pseudo Sunday. really shows you just how LITTLE free time you have to yourself.Too much work, not enough time to enjoy/express yourself outside of it
I don't even look for incoming traffic anymore.
The sooner I'm done the better.
All the time, breh…
Take me back to those hunter-gatherer days when I could live off the land with my fellow tribesmen…someone answer this...
when has life been better for humans?
if you could get in a time machine which era would you go to in order to live better?
in 2023 you have everything at your fingertips...
the collective knowledge of humans is a swipe away
food is plentiful
you can damn near order any woman you want
lose your job?
they have social safety nets
what exactly is so hard about your life?
what are the issues you have that you didnt create yourself?
Katt hit it on the head here:
When you're constantly comparing your real life to these online phantasms then its inevitable that depression sets in. The net really did a number on peoples heads. As intended.
Amen to that. I recently found a stick on the road, looks like some good wood. And I’m going to turn that into a flute soon enough, and I really thought about the duality of the complexity of making an instrument yet how easy it was to get that random piece to make it. Life is much better when you’re doing things vs having everything done for you like all the things you listed."Be not of this world"
The more detached from this world and the things of it...the happier you'll be.
Everything in this world is PURPOSELY DESIGNED to inject demonic spirits inside of you (alcohol, GMO weed, drugs, porn, sex itself, materialism, media/music, etc).
Depression is a SPIRIT and the less you care about the things that's put on a pedestal and popularized in this world.....the better you'll be able to avoid the emptiness that comes with it.
The older I get, the more detached from this world I'm becoming and the more peaceful and happy I'm becoming also. I couldn't care less about the latest fashions, owning the latest model cars, fancy houses, drip , etc.
It's almost like I'm an outsider observing this world.
