The example you're giving doesn't mention that IT WAS THE FUKKING ROCK and he hadn't wrestled in seven years, and doing it that way they were able to sell Cena vs Rock three years in a row. Mania 27 did a million PPV buys despite a weak WM card doing what you're describing.

The bigger point is that Wrestlemania is supposed to be epic and special and these recognizable stars who have been around for a long time, some of them during wrestling's prime, make it epic and special in a way that Alberto Del Rio vs CM Punk wouldn't have back in 2011.

Actually my point was WM 27 is the reason why they've relied on part timers to headline ever since. It worked there because it was The Rock, and WWE of course took the wrong message as they always do when something is successful and now we have 55 year old Goldberg and 50 year old Edge headlining, they'd wheel Taker out to embarrass and injure himself every year, they'd break HHH out of the glass case whenever, have Brock dismantle the roster for a decade while working 4-5 dates a year and even if he lost he'd just come back and destroy everyone again 6 months later.

I see a lot of potential in their current rasslers but they have to help them reach it. I'd watch WM main events featuring AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler (terrible name btw), Seth Rollins, The Fiend, Drew McIntyre, Aleister Black, Ricochet, Chad Gable, Shinsuke Nakamura etc. but the E gotta invest in them. You don't always need legends to come back to spike ratings if you putting on good shows without them.

That's why Ambrose ate him alive in that title run feud they had with Styles a few years ago...Cena bashed him on the Austin appearance but Ambrose came at Cena real hard the next Smackdown. I disagree a little but damn that was so well written, I’m not even going to argue. I will say that I watch WWE to be Sports Entertained and I don’t really care if the talent is 75 as long as they are entertaining and used properly, but Goldberg is 50+ and is never used right and his 2 minute matches don’t slap in 2021. He is like if Dominique Wilkins or Jordan was able to enter this years dunk contest and was out there doing the same dunks from 1985.

Goldberg hasn’t increased any entertainment since his Brock feud so they need to find a better way to use him or risk further ruining his star power

Problem is the nostalgia for the current gen ain't gonna be as strong as it is with Taker, HBK, Cena, Rock, Edge etc as most of the current gen have been presented as inferior to older generations. None of them bar maybe Roman come across as real stars. Only the small niche group of fans who still watch Raw are gonna care about Seth or Bray making a return.

I think they could probably do okay with the women....Becky, Sasha and Charlotte could be big deals as part time attractions

First off.. The Rock doesn’t count, he is above pro wrestling, he don’t need to prove himself anymore, he is the biggest draw they can have including SCSA. If he showed up the day before mania and said he wanted a title match for both titles then Vince would be stupid not to do it, and the rating would be through the roof.

Batista doesn’t count either since Mania wasn’t about him, it was the yes movement he picked the wrong time to return.. However if it wasn’t for that he was a big Hollywood star who still looked better than 90% of the roster, he deserved that treatment

HHH is technically full time, he is in or around wwe buildings everyday, he just isn’t in ring.. Him main eventing is no worse than when Vince would decide to have a match.

And please stop calling Brock a part timer, he has had multiple matches every year since 2012 or so, he been around he showed up to a few raws and every ppv. He also more than anything is very entertaining. I don’t mean great technical wrestler, I mean entertaining.. Cause lets face it, technical wrestling doesn’t draw shyt, ask impact, ROH and all the other small time companies that has excellent in ring wrestling.

Edge might even be around for an actual run, he just got hurt last time.. The part timer complaint is over stated
