Damn. Ginuwine and Timbo just pretty much redid 4 Page Letter with that song in OP
Enjoying music, isnt cerebral. You like it because you like it.
Ol, i know that sample so fukk this song ass nikka.
It's not easy as you think, to find a good sample and then loop it or add drums and other things to it. It takes a certain ear and people go digging real hard just to find good stuff a lot of times. You making it seems like nikkas always just took popular old records too, fukk naw a lot of time they had to dig to find the good stuff or figure out how they could use certain things that were hard to use. Like for instance, J Dilla has this one beat where he sampled a Roy Ayers song but the thing is that Roy Ayers is talking throughout the whole song of the original sample and he had to really make these tiny ass chops of the song and put that shyt together like surgery. People are still trying to figure out how he did it. It's what hiphop originates from, taking one song or in some cases many and making them into something new. That shyt ain't easy man. Those are your words not mine....
Im not talking if its a good song or not. Im talking how good the producer is, mainly how original the producer is.
and I enjoy every song I posted. A hit song sampled should produce another hit. I think thats the whole point![]()

So anyone that uses a loop has no talent. Is that you're point. Those are your words not mine....

My favorite 90's Hip Hop producers weren't that talented after all. I don't know if on purpose but he always plays songs that have very well known samples for hip hop hits from the 1990's or maybe its just coincidence?
I remember one episode featured Quest Love and this whole show was literally 1-2 hr of songs that had been used for samples in major Rap/R&B songs from 1990-2000
anyway some songs that stood out to me were this:
which the Neptunes turned into this:
and then there was this:
which Timbaland used to make:
those are just two examples, but the list really goes on, and on
anyways this may not be a big deal to those who have a lot of old school music knowledge but man I thought all these hip hop producers were more original
Oh and one more thing, QTips taste and knowledge of music isgo get apple music and check out his channel if you like that old school hiphop/soul/r&b stuff.

Original stuff is cool but not many hiphop producers can really play instruments so the beats are simple or use a certain formula to make them if they are using computers, synths, vsts and etc. Also stuff that is original that uses live instruments can be overproduced a lot of time, it has to be done a certain way. Many can play very well but can't make dope beats by themselves because they lack the creativity with putting it together.
So anyone that uses a loop has no talent. Is that you're point.
I think you're back pedaling a bitNo, I'm just saying theres a difference between some producers who sample and other producers who are musicians. Both can be respected for their craft HOWEVER its way easier for people who sample today and back in the day. Easier to make a hit song from a older hit song. Its "Hip Hop" but still i know some producers who DONT sample cause they play many instruments and use live instruments. Or should I say, they don't rely on samples. Eventhough both producers can make equally good songs, I guess I can respect live instruments more than sampling because its original and most producers who sample aren't skilled at a J Dilla, Kanye, RZA, Madlib, etc... type level.
I think you're back pedaling a bit
Name producers who fit your argument
Whats the Jdilla song and roy ayers song?
ManI was speaking of personal producers I know.
but theres always Organized Noize from the outkast/dungen family days. they didn't sample![]()
You're actually wrong, even they sampled elements from other songs from time to time.I was speaking of personal producers I know.

Outkast also produced some of their own beats from time to time and they would sample too.
