Read on the 11W boards that Coombs is the top choice right now. If we get him back, he’s an upgrade over Hafley. As good as Hafley was this year, Coombs was the one to recruit Okudah, Wade, Sevyn, Cam, Tyreke to OSU. That’s three 5*s and two other 4*s in 2017 and 2018. Only thing is I don’t know how great of a defensive scheme he’d run, but I bet he’s gained a lot more coaching in the NFL the past two years.

Make him DC like what he wanted which caused him to leave the first time. He can basically be what Hafley was in the role this year. But can get back to crooting all the 5*s again. Plus I feel like he’d stay longer and not jump at the first head coaching job like so many others in the coordinator role.

Only DB yet to reaffirm his commitment is Clark Phillips. If he signs, and we get Coombs, I say we are in a better position than before Hafley left. We don’t have any 2021 DBs committed yet, so Kerry can get to work on all the 5*s. Birm even said he’s the top candidate. He was the coach in Day’s first year here. Time to make it happen

Yeah Combs was a much better recruiter than Hafely. Only person better is probably dude from LSU at recruiting DBs.

I think this will be a big part of the game. They rely on their two WRs to get a lot of those 50/50 balls down the field, and we basically haven’t given any of these up all season. Gotta limit their ability to make those plays.

What's funny is Utah is trying to sell Clark on "why go be just another number at OSU when you can come to Utah and be the big man on campus." And Northwestern is selling Cam on "why go to OSU and get lost in the shuffle with all those other WRs and DBs when you can come here and be solo star." Schools trying to low key shyt on the croot telling them they would be nobodys at OSU, bigging up OSU's depth of talent, and also shytting on their own school all in one fell swoop.
