holyfield's kid to the active roster? is he any good?

he isn't explosive and that played out with his slow 40 and no hops vertical but he does have good vision and patience to let blockers do their thing..and he is pretty good in pass protection. He is the perfect- 4th quarter RB to grind the time or short yardage back.

The only reason to take O-Line, IMO, is if there’s a great Center prospect available to eventually replace Kelce. Otherwise, they gotta go WR and DB heavy in FA/the Draft. The lack of production in the passing offense and passing defense were the biggest failings of this season and they’ve already locked up Dillard/Seumalo/Brooks/Johnson for the long-term.

Carson needs a genuine WR1. Alshon Jeffery has declined, will be 30-years old next year, and on top of that will be dealing with a major foot injury all offseason. DJax is good, but will be 33-years old. Greg Ward has been good, but he’s not a #1. JJAW didn’t flash anything to indicate that he could step into that role.

The secondary is in even worse shape. Darby and Mills are FAs after the season, neither has shown that they should even be brought back, and there’s no one on the roster who looks to be able to step up behind them. Jones was a bust, three good late-season games against the Giants/Cowboys aside, and Douglas is mediocre at best, LeBlanc isn’t a CB1. McLeod is a FA, also will be 30-years old in 2020. Jenkins is 32-years old. So there’s a huge need for corners and safeties in this defense.

I know Howie prioritizes the lines, and I usually agree with that philosophy, but I think an exception needs to be made this offseason. The Eagles badly need to get younger and better at the skill positions.

Seamulo was drafted to possibly replace Kelce. The position Isaac played the most and flourished at Oregon State was at center. He played all 5 positions there but he doesnt have the anchor to really excel at guard consistently and although he is pretty athletic- he cant play tackle consistently either. I am not saying he will be the starting center for the next 5 years but if Kelce retires they may give Isaac a chance to take the position. The top tier centers will be gone by round 3- if someone falls great but just draft a good LG and kick Isaac over.

If JH is good to go, we need to rely heavy on our 3 backs today....
Run run run and screen

a healthy and productive Barnett has been huge on the defense
We need a lot of QB spy from our linebackers, so Russ lil ass don’t run all over us. I think Marshawn will be a non factor.
Seattle receivers worry me tho.

Heard it's supposed to be dumb windy out there today. Hopefully we don't have another David Akers costing Vick a possible ring situation tonight.

:stopitslime:

But I'm cautiously optimistic. Limit Russ's explosive escape plays where he breaks free and hits somebody 35yds downfield and I think we should be able to generate enough points to win. But I think Sanders isn't gonna be too effective today with that ankle injury sad to say.:francis:

How we feeling today people?
Definitely feels like a W to me.

I haven't felt confident heading into a game for a good 5-8 weeks. So not much has changed except for the liquid confidence I'm imbibing now.

A 15-13 win wouldn't surprise me. A 38-3 blowout loss wouldn't either. My confidence comes all the way back if we win and DeSean is back to looking even 75% of himself. Then I'm Super Bowl dreaming.

Maaaaaan....

I was COOL with where we were. Yunno, Wild Card home game despite the injuries, etc.....

....and then NFL Network's Kyle Brandt had the AUDACITY to wear a friggin JIM SCHWARTZ T-SHIRT on TV when he picked us to win. :stopitslime:

Now I'm torn, lol....sure, I want us to win, but not if it means that clown gets more love and ends up staying. He STILL gotta go.

As for the game....wouldn't shock me if Metcalf ends up lookin like Randy Moss out there today.

Also....I am SO SICK of this "Carson has alot to prove" crap.... OK so if that's true then why don't we judge him on a more fair standard? In other words, if people want him to live up to the standard set by Foles so badly, then give him the same tools Foles had during the Super Bowl run. Otherwise it's not a fair comparison.....did FOLES have to anchor must-win games with cats who - when the 2019 season started - were sweeping up at Chuck E. Cheese as his weapons? No. Foles was HANDED a playoff team, Wentz had to help create one on the fly. :russ:
