I got a good feeling we are gonna go O-line once in the first three rounds. We have Dillard to take over for Peters but then there's Kelce possibly retiring too and Brooks hurt often.
The only reason to take O-Line, IMO, is if there’s a great Center prospect available to eventually replace Kelce. Otherwise, they gotta go WR and DB heavy in FA/the Draft. The lack of production in the passing offense and passing defense were the biggest failings of this season and they’ve already locked up Dillard/Seumalo/Brooks/Johnson for the long-term.
Carson needs a genuine WR1. Alshon Jeffery has declined, will be 30-years old next year, and on top of that will be dealing with a major foot injury all offseason. DJax is good, but will be 33-years old. Greg Ward has been good, but he’s not a #1. JJAW didn’t flash anything to indicate that he could step into that role.
The secondary is in even worse shape. Darby and Mills are FAs after the season, neither has shown that they should even be brought back, and there’s no one on the roster who looks to be able to step up behind them. Jones was a bust, three good late-season games against the Giants/Cowboys aside, and Douglas is mediocre at best, LeBlanc isn’t a CB1. McLeod is a FA, also will be 30-years old in 2020. Jenkins is 32-years old. So there’s a huge need for corners and safeties in this defense.
I know Howie prioritizes the lines, and I usually agree with that philosophy, but I think an exception needs to be made this offseason. The Eagles badly need to get younger and better at the skill positions.
