As long as there is multiple companies producing consoles, there will be exclusives. As Xbox figured out, you can't sell consoles on hardware if the software is shyt.

Wouldn’t dare see mario on another platform like iphone, etc.

Today, nintendo had to not only consolidate their development to less total games, they have to sell them on multiple generations of their own console to make their business work.

Again the change has been subtle so we’ve been able to move goalposts on what an “exclusive” actually is.

But not too long ago the idea of a nintendo console launching without any games you can’t play on another console would have been asinine.

Switch 2 will launch with a bunch of switch games and we will call them “exclusive” cause the bar has dropped so low in 2025
