It was brilliant, what you were describing is totally uncalled for and only would appeal to simpletons who couldn't read between the lines. There was enough violence shown that we didn't miss anything new. The majority of people who loved the show were totally vested in Tony so a crass ending like that would have been too over the top and dumb to end the show.
