Uncertain grounds
There are too many outlets for people to get their highlights in the fashion they want it. Instead of being forcefed highlights from corny personalities, people can go to Twitter or YouTube and get the game footage. Twitter has also crushed them with news exclusives, with many of ESPN personalities feeding into it by dropping breaking tweets rather than keeping their info for exclusive ESPN broadcasts. Those are just two things but they have crushed Sports Center. Then you go into bad programming, people cutting cable more and more by the day and bad contracts with sports leagues and you have ESPNs demise.

Espn needs to cut ties with cable providers and turn the watchespn app into the sports version of Netflix

Make espn a standalone app that you pay for directly instead of needing a cable subscription

Its really the only smart play they have left

Firing everybody to save money just makes your product weaker which will drive away even more subscribers
Im not in favor for paying extra when I already have TWC but from a business perspective sounds pretty solid :ehh:

Clay Travis is too obsessed with "libruls" for me to take his numbers seriously.

The problem is the leagues are doing the direct to consumer sales themselves.
NFL has sunday ticket and is thinking of making a NFL over the top network, NBA League Pass, MLB has its own thing as well.

ESPN's business model is dead and they are locked into terrible contracts.
Its gonna take a miracle to turn it around, but they might be able to if they sell off their radio stations

ESPN is still owned by Disney. Maybe they will funnel some of that star wars and marvel money over to ESPN to subsidize them.

who needs espn outside of games..

I haven't watch sportscenter in years... just logged in to the coli and nikkas give u better analysis and video highlights than espn....u have bleacher report and other social media outlet

if u watch tv, just flipped to the nfl network and somewhat nbatv for game highlights and info

ESPN is hurting Disney's overall profit with the money its losing.
I wouldn't be surprised if Disney spins them off and tries to sell them.
