streetball culture is healthier than it's ever been honestly

and1 came & brought attention to hoops outside the nba

but we had to leave the clown antics behind

now it's just raw blacktop hoops the purest form of the sport

someone needs to put money into capturing the summer season

*
I agree wit this, nikkas lowkey would have espn as one of the top channels/streaming services if they really showcased the summer leagues across the country using real production like back when they was showing and1 or madden tournaments

:dead:

Said it before but while there were players definitely better than Sauce, dude was on fire in the early 00's. Breh pulled up at the Neverland Ranch and ran a few with the GOAT. This is one of the most random and simultaneously dope things ever. I can hear MJ now.

"Show me the boomerang!"

:russ:

Yall lucky the GOAT decided to dance and not hoop.

With the way he moved, ain't nobody staying in front of Mike if he was ill with the dribble. :mjlol:

Sauce talks about the Michael Jackson visit here. Said Michael was waiting at the door with his hands on his hips. :russ:

The entire thing is a dope interview but I timestamped the MJ part. Mike actually called Sauce and wanted to meet him. :wow: Sauce talking about he tried to drop MJ :laff:

Finally watched. Man this is comically short at under an hour. You could legit do a 3,4 part series on this. It was such a vital part of not only hoops but the overall culture. Specifically the volume 1-3 years. It’s one of the last things that was part of the culture that was OURS, underground. The internet and mainstream rap coincided with the and 1 mixtapes rise. By 2003, 2004 there was no such thing as underground. So those first couple were like lighting

Some random thoughts:

-MOST guys couldn’t make the league but a couple could. 3 to be exact. AO played D2, was 6’3, and was cerebral and had a pro game even in streetball. He could have been a backup PG. Same for Headache. But Alimoe is the one tho who sadly didn’t get any mentions. 6’7 with the handles and a jumper. His game was beautiful. RIP

-Just looked up Hot Sauce he has 30k followers and no blue check. Most these guys have less than 10k and basically aren’t profiting off their name. Meanwhile the professor has a blue check and 4M followers. Typical story

Normally I'd agree but Professor was smart :troll:

Seriously though. Remember him going viral with all those Spiderman at the park vids?? That wasn't some WSHH shyt. He had a real youtube series doing that, getting millions of views. Then it got on ESPN. He was also one of the first to turn to "coaching." A lot of these IG coaches got that idea off him. He was putting out dribbling "classes" on youtube a decade ago. And was putting up clips and vids of him balling and then follow it up with how to do it.

Those other guys never thought to do any of that shyt. All they needed was a camera and a computer. Hell, they still ain't doing it now and it's 2022.
