I was under the impression it was next to impossible, if not impossible to qualify for fafsa and be a grad student.

:heh:

As far as I know, every single one of my Canadian friends in law school had to get private loans or borrow the money from their parents because they can't get FAFSA because they're not American.

Man....I'm really worried about my oldest son getting saddled in debt. I forgot which school his grandfather is a professor at in Barbados, but I wouldn't mind him going either their or someplace in Europe.

My son is seven and I started too late with his college savings. I save $500 a month since my two year old was born putting money away in his 529, but oldest son is five years behind in those savings,

I don't want to end up like these folks.

:(

Tell that man to play lacrosse or soccer or some shyt. Get that scholarship money up. By the time your son is old enough we'll probably have reached the point where we have to fix this shyt anyway. Student tuition rising at a higher rate than anything else over the last 20 years makes no sense. I don't even understand what makes it so expensive.

That'll all even out when you try to go to law school in the states and you take out 250k in private loans because you're not from the states so you can't file FAFSA :obamaword:

Actually, OSAP (Ontario Student Assistant Program) will give you a loan at any accredited university in the world. Also theres major grants and bursaries.

I think I'm straight :ahh:

Canada :ahh:

I don't even understand what makes it so expensive.

IDK either, I saw a documentary recently, that came out in 93, that roughly talked about the sh*t apparent in today's society.

From numerous students being unprepared for college level courses(of course targeting minorities), grade inflation, excessive student loans etc...

Definitely worth watching when you get the chance...

He did an update back in 2008 as well:

Definitely worth watching when you get the chance...

As a Canadian, why would you pay $250k for a US law degree? Really not worth it unless it's HYS or Columbia/Georgetown. My younger bro pays $7k a year at McGill Law and is pretty much set for life.

My oldest son is KILLING it with soccer. They already have him playing with the 10 year olds because he's too fast and aggressive for the 7 & 8 year olds.

It's all about getting that scholarship.

shyt....my wife's nephew played Lacrosse for Eagle Academy in Brownsville before going to boarding school upstate. I've been trying to tell him to keep it up.

Man, let them kids go where they wanna.

If anything you should be ushering them towards UA :blessed:
You're not hearing me.

I don't want them to be burdened in future debt in case I fall short of paying for them to go to school outright.

How do those rates compare to FAFSA, and are you sure it applies to the professional level

None of my boys from McGill or Calgary have that shyt and it's not something they would miss so I don't know.

OSAP and other provincial student loan agencies have a cap, can't see them giving more than 15-20k a year.

Supply and Demand. Government money and a weak economy increased demand.

The next bubble is a student loan debt bubble.

Student loan debt just passed credit card debt.

Joseph Stiglitz is unbearable. I despise him.
