Obviously the information Epstein had (video tapes etc) on some of the most influential people in the world would be a juicy target for any intel agencies - the US included.

It's pretty obvious as well that Epstein was allowed to continue because of the info he had on these people. He could both threaten those who threaten him AND trade this information so authorities look the other way.
