Annapurna is a publisher not a developer.

These aren’t “creatives” they are talking about replacing.

The games that are in the works should be just fine as long as they get the funding.

If you think they are replaceable now, you thought they were before, and that speaks for itself. Games are art and devs are artists; you can't just hot-swap parts like they're pieces of tech.

I agree with you, but the thing about games are art, means they fall in the category that all artists face. Is this thing I made going to make money? Which is when you get the artists who “sell out” and go corporate.

If the CEO said they’re focusing on publishing AAA, it could be because their financials don’t look that great in the long term.

This was the first sign to me that something wasn’t right behind the scenes. Annapurna don’t even make “AAA” movies

Even if they did, it wouldn't be the same. Its a talent based industry, if the entire nuggets roster quit and you replaced them with free agents, your team will likely be trash.

they're a publisher, that's a division of a larger publisher. if they close shop, a bunch of games, and their dev teams, will lose their funding. is that the outcome people really want?
