These comparisons are ridiculous because of how we perceive/relate to chattel "slavery", but by definition(something we dont use in regards to slavery) a few of the comparisons are fair.

I guess you could argue the govt. isnt one person, but the rest applies... but, if they are specifically fingering Obama, then how is it inaccurate?

Conservatives always tell us to get over it. 'It was 300 years ago.' It's always further and further away. You have people alive today whose grandparents were slaves. They cling to a document written in 1776 like crazy, but shyt that happened until 1865 is irrelevant.
They have a predisposition towards this racially charged language. I've never heard black people say ANYTHING was like slavery except for slavery. That's why I think movies like 12 Years A Slave and shows like Roots are important. THAT is slavery. Subsidies for health insurance is not slavey. Unemployment benefits is not slavery. Children being whipped to death and thrown in a ditch is slavery. I wish we could have anybody who makes that comparison live like a slave for 60 days.

How am I deciding what slavery is? The shyt was real. I'm not deciding on a context for it. My worldview has nothing to do with it.
And you will stand behind statements that say a few gun laws are as bad as an institution of 400 years of slavery and 10 million dead Africans at the bottom of the Atlantic?
