Ok breh let me put it like this. Machida would not have swung for the fences trying to take Silva head off if he clowned on him. Machida would not have tried to submit Silva. Machida is not a guy who goes into a fight with the gameplan of I will be aggressive and finish him. Hes more opportunistic then anything

Being opportunitistic lends itself to a longer career tho to be fair. It's rare to make it as long as he has as a fighter without having been in many all out dog fights. Too many cats lose fights they were otherwise winning by being too aggressive. Chris Leben made a career off catching folks coming in recklessly seeking a finish and KO'ing them, same as Chuck Liddell

Rampage is tough to finish but Machida was trying to take his head off when he wobbled him towards the end of their fight. Same with Tito, same with Jon Jones even Jon was able to get away from him and regroup but the moment Lyoto wobbled him he was in pursuit immediately.

To your point I can for sure see where ur coming from because it's going to be a long night as a Machida fan if no openings present themselves because he isn't the kind of fighter that's going to take chances to create an opening.

Machida is 36 years old. Hes on his way out. That division is about to become a ghost town because many of the old legends are on their way out. I think at this point. Rockhold may be the only viable option. Jacare i feel has the potential to beat Weidman as well but hes 34 so his reign will ultimately end up being shorter then Leprechauns.

Although Machida is up there in age, he's taken little damage throughout his career and hasn't showed any signs of slowing down.

I agree with everything you said but to the average, casual fan(the most important) and Dana a fighter like Machida will never be marketable. Look at all the guys who've been cut recently. Okami, Shields, Fitch. Guys who never look for finishes or put on exciting fights. I'm not saying Machida is on their level, but he will never be a must see TV guy or "damn Machida is headlining. I've got to order that card." Guys like Lauzon or Cerrone may have iffy records and never be contenders, but they will always have a job, win bonuses, be popular, etc because they go for it. Look at Garcia. Dude lost 5 fights in a row, but he was exciting so he stayed on before it became :comeon: Same thing will probably happen with Sanchez

Machida was always flabby looking at LHW, he looks to be in better shape at MW, he moves around a lot more than anderson who also stands in front of his opponent relying on head movement

Other than that, I agree.
