Us Somalis need to be humble and work on fixing our country. All this animosity towards our bantu brothers isn't really productive. I will say this though, I have never met a younger generation Somali hating on Bantus in real life. This seems to be only an internet thing.

I don't know what kinda Somalis these are but the people I know aren't like these people. My parents have their prejudices but who hates on Bantus? Somali Bantus are probably the coolest people in the world.
Its good that we have clear minded Somalis on here to balance things out. If it weren't for those Somalis then people on here would ignorantly think all Somalis behave like that somalia character. I actually met many clear minded Somalis on the net to make those distinctions.
First time I was exposed to Somali Bantus was when I moved to Seattle and I swear these people were so laid back and friendly. My whole street is pretty much Somali, but i only like our Somali Bantu neighbors and I can't stand the other Somalis because they gossip too much.
A lot of Somalis are frustrated becase they live homebody, sedentary lifestyles. They're not well-integrated into American/Canadian society. They don't feel welcolmed. They only hang out with other Somalis. I can't blame them for being ignorant. Most of them don't think outside of whatever their parents or friends think. There are some who still think FGM is okay, even. Somalis, in general, are lagging behind the rest of society. I feel like most Somalis from Scarborough (like Gucci) and Dixon shouldn't even have Internet access.
Yeah, Somalis do gossip too much, but so do most humans. Somali Bantus are generally more chill than us, which is sad for me to admit.
If you were born in Canada in the 90s like me than you shouldn't be mutiliated. None of my cousins in my age range are. But some of the ones who went thru the war and came here a little older are.

Yeah religion has a lot to do with it but I've met way more progressive Muslims that aren't Somali. Somalis got fukked up after the war. They're all Wahabi/Salafi and shyt. We used to be a little more level-headed. I feel like if the war never happened we could have been like Iran before the Shah was toppled. We were more chill back then.
