So I watched a 2 hour Documentary on Haile Sellsie a few months ago..pretty good, even tho it had a few things that I found racist, Africa the "dark continent" and how Europeans were treated to a "Medieval" feast of raw meat..so I disregarded it since the documentary was like 30 years old and it was the only one about him on YouTube..but it was a good watch..

The medieval shyt is prolly true cuz we still eat raw meat today plus Ethiopian society in the 19th and early 20th century was on some medieval times type steeze that's why slavery was still practiced cuz the economy was based on nobles owning land and exploiting a serf class. Honestly, it's pretty remarkable to see how Africa was so violently thrust into the modern world and still has to adjust to it today.

Nah not at all, Ethiopia has the OAU headquarters because of its symbolism in the African/Afro-Caribbean/Afro-American resistance movements of the 19th and early 20th century as an independent nation and the extreme antiquity of the civilization itself. Most Africans trace the modern Pan Africanist/Black Nationalist movements to the second Italian invasion.

Colonized countries were more advanced and had better infrastructure albeit at a terrible price, funny enough some Ethiopians wonder if Italy colonizing us would've made things better in the long run. Europeans tended to look at Ethiopia the same way they viewed India and perhaps that's why this narrative of Ethiopia being advanced came from. Ethiopia was only advanced in the sense that the monarchs knew some of what was going on in the outside world and kept contacts in Europe. So I suppose their diplomacy, Christian nature, and depth of culture might be what they mean because on a technical level Ethiopia was literally in the Middle Ages in terms of lifestyle and social order only the weapons and military tactics were current.

East African federation is definitely an in interesting idea. The horn should be brought into the fold. That would add close to 100 million people and make for a diverse union in terms of just natural resources.

East African federation is definitely an in interesting idea. The horn should be brought into the fold. That would add close to 100 million people and make for a diverse union in terms of just natural resources.

Man what?! We'd control the most important shipping route, have a wealth of resources to build infrastructure and help the poor, and around 275 million people with 432 bil in combined GDP. We'd have one of the most influential nations in the world, too many special interests would be ruined.

You right about that. It's a lot of obstacles in the way. That's why I lowkey adhere to some tenants of Rastafari because certain things in it lend itself to this very subject. Us East Africans are part of a special family and are linked with each other through the ages. Only way this would work is if it becomes a full fledged political movement that came through like the Arab Spring. I can imagine the youth of East Africa, the diaspora, hell just about everyone is sick of the same bullshyt.
