$hort and Jay are actually really good friends. Honestly, the rap game out here is rarely the main hustle for those who are in it. I think it's slowed down for us a lot because it's getting so damn expensive just to stay here and keep our heads above water. Most of the og rappers out here are either dead, in jail, bounced down south or found a different avenue to make money also. Music ain't paying like it used to nowadays. As far as what was said about getting prominent artists to get on our wax, lots of times out here it's either done with the artists own money or strength of networking that gets it done rather having any label capitol to play with

For a region without a huge black population, the Bay is pretty talented. Sage The Gemini drops like 2 mainstream HITS per year, E40 is still relevant, Jidenna had a hit with "classic man", Kehlani is getting popular, etc...

I'm saying most people didn't know of or check for Loverance outside of the bay, and 50 pretty much made it his song...Where is Rance now? There was also another version with a more popular artist singing...and Iamsu's verse was not on "non bay" versions of the song.
