They said the Friday night happy hour basically disappeared and got replaced by brunch on the weekends.

While it could be argued that happy hours are a toxic byproduct of a work-centric culture...but the fact that people exclude everything that depended on offices filled with people is pretty impressive.

But it also explains why people just keep parroting "affordable housing".... People ignore that there are a lot of interconnected services that rely on each other to exist and function efficiently.

I mentioned in the suburbs thread that gentrification is cyclical. Once downtown office buildings close surrounding shops and restaurants will follow because the foot traffic is much lower. “Luxury” apartments will likely be affordable housing. Most housing developments were born out of white flight.
