What kind of jobs have you been applying for?
Do you fill most your applications online or in person?
What do you do after you submit application?

As the title implies I'm tryna get my first job. Actually I been tryna get my first job since I was 15 but because I have no prior experience employers don't fukk with me and I don't got friends or family to put me on with something:sadcam:

I don't want y'all to think I'm lazy, I filled out hella applications and in a span of 3 years I've only got like 5 interviews that didn't lead to employment. Everyone else around me can get jobs like nothing but, when I try my hardest to get a job I get nothing, shyt is aggravating and kinda stressful:sadbron:

I ain't even asking to be a CEO or nothing like that, just something that can finance a car and an apartment.

Long story short I'm bouta be 19 soon and the longer I'm unemployed the worse it makes me look so, coli brehs what can I do to get employed??

You poor poor soul. Breh, you aint financin shyt off your first job, or getting your own apartment. So go ahead and let that go now...

If you in school, get a job at a resturant or a grocery store, theyll hire you. You can work your way up and be making ok money after a promotion or a couple of years of raises. This should hold you over til you get your degres. If not, you may as well go into a trade. Because you will NOT be able to get a job to suppport yourself with no degree/experience.

Best source of jobs are usually through networking

First do you really know what career you want in the future?
If so try meet ups dedicated to that using the app.
Try contacting your schools for placements if they have part time.
Try asking on fb. Leave shame for other things. Employment is necessary

Linkedin presence should be a must with your cv. Since you're young with a lack of experience, your unbridled motivation should slide through.(delete crap from your social media asap)

There's a lot of jobs on LinkedIn and other job sites. Use tech to your advantage and apply there as well.
  • Go for a sales job to know how to sell yourself which is a priceless art.
  • Tech jobs to learn how to solve problems
  • Trade jobs for more money and opportunities in the blue collar sector
The career I want is a bit far fetched but still possible anyways I want to grow cannabis for the dispensaries all I really need is money for the license and supplies and some space and I'm fine and also I stay off social media so employers won't find shyt :russ:

Learn an in demand skill/trade

Have you tried call center/warehouse jobs with high turnover, they basically hand out those jobs
Your local unemployment center
Job fairs
My mom actually was telling me about some Amazon warehouse job but she "forgot" where the application link was at :martin:

What's your resume looking like?

Once you're hired, have your exit strategy laid out ahead of time in case of fukkery.

Always be networking & looking for your chance to level up.
I agree man anyways I don't got real experience that these employers die for on my resume just babysitting and shyt like that, I took a culinary class my junior year and put that on my skills

.Retail and restaurant jobs really and I fill them out both online and in person
I think for both these jobs (and I've worked both around your age) first impression can make or break your chances to set yourself apart from all the applicants they get. Try to apply/submit your application when the manager is around and available, that might be earlier in the am or after lunch rush. Dress nice, be friendly and outspoken. Prepare to be able to give a 2-3 min introduction for yourself.

Although you dont have prior work experience, come up with examples where you used or gained skills that would apply to the job youre after. That might be as simple as working with a team on a school project or an activity that required learning something new, and your dedication and commitment to the completed goal. It could even be something ongoing. Things that speak to your reliablility and their ability to depend on you, your ability to work through adversity, and to see a task through to the end.

There are much worse things in lacking experience. Counter it with your willingness and enthusiasm.

Edit- with online resumes, make sure to follow up in a day or two. Call and courteously ask to speak with the manager, for larger companies HR or personnel, try to arrange an interview.

If you just want a job right now instead of a career then look for seasonal jobs. This time of year alot of places are hiring for the upcoming Christmas shopping season. I just went and got a side gig at Target like it was nothing. Also just apply wherever you feel you could do the job. When I first started working I just applied wherever. You'll be alright, I was in your shoes a while back and was worried too but it's really not that hard to get a job if you really want one.

Find an apprenticeship program

Your profile states you're reppin' CA so I went to their website for the Department of Industrial Relations. Look for an apprenticeship there. Most are free, most are paid, some aren't a hiring right now but if I were you, I would call each and every one and ask for more info.

I saw Agricultural, Machinist, Electrical, Capentry, Mechanic, etc...

Hope that helps.
