Do you not understand the concept of a nighttime soap? "Empire" is a nighttime soap.

I thought it was supposed to be a serious drama. That's what threw me off. Reading the thread from last season, I see a lot of people were watching it just for the shyts and giggles.

So I tried to give this show a chance. I watched the first six episodes of last season....I can't believe how bad it is...

How can this show be so popular? Seriously, it's one step above a daytime soap.

All the promos/trailers that were released before the series premiere ever aired, made it obvious to me the show was a Nighttime Soap Opera. I don't understand how y'all can watch the promos, see who is involved in the show (Cast & crew), & see that it airs on Network TV and NOT realize this show is a Soap Opera.

It's not to be taken serious but some posters still try and analyze shyt like they would actual serious shows lol. It's one of the dumbest but also one of the more entertaining shows out. The faq shyt got to go though. But I fear it will get worse.

Never paid attention to the promos. Lee Daniels is known for making serious movies. Terrance Howard is a serious actor. Honestly I thought it was aiming to be a network drama.
