I mean you're Eminem.. Your fanbase will follow you where ever you want to take them...
if relapse had been more successful we would prob be hearing a diff Em', but it was his least successful album $$ wise
Em was spittin on relapse and hip hop fans didnt respond with their $$$. At the end of the day Eminem is a business, the music industry is a business. Business cater their product to those with $$$ and those who spend $$$. Before leaks and downloads fans across the board were forced to support their fan artist with their $$$. But now hip hop fans just download albums for the most part. The quicker yall understand this the quicker yall will stop getting bent out of shape that artist dont make music "for you".
So you're calling eminem a sell out?
Shoulda been him with the monster instead of eazy e..
#2 on itunes
1st week...the delux version of the album is already #2 on itunes and its hasnt even come out lol
and for people that say sales dont matter....to me its nice to see artist you like do well with their music and commercially. I was hyped for Cole when he sold well, good to see
with the talk of sales. Regardless of what garbage he puts out, white people will act like it's the best thing ever.
What makes wealthy successful artists go this route? Same with Jay and his Timberlake filth... Is the success just that addictive that you become afraid to take any artistic risks? Is the goal to just make as much bread as you can and not leave anything on the table?
I mean you're Eminem.. Your fanbase will follow you where ever you want to take them...
I dont get it.. Say what you want about Kanye but he'll put out some trash in an attempt to make something thats not formulaic..
I don't think Em is like Jay at all though. I honestly think Em used to love Hip Hop and just hate what it has become. He's kind of just over it and phoning it in. He doesn't even seem to really want to be involved with all the bullshyt that's out now, and I can see him really making a mockery of what this shyt has become. Yeah the success is great, but I don't think he's driven for it as much as other rappers. I mean look how much Em puts himself in out in the media as much as other successful acts. Em's fallen back over the years, for multiple reasons,
Again, I don't know him, so I can only assume
Eminem explained this song's meaning to Vibe magazine: "What the whole song is saying is that I have a strange relationship with hip-hop because I love it so much. I go through this thing in my head a lot, which I'm sure every rapper does, where you give your life to this thing. You literally give everything that you got. I come to work some days wearing the same thing two days in a row—baggy sweats—just dedicating my life to this. And there are times that I feel like I get the respect that I deserve and there are times where I feel like I don't."
