At some point Eminem decided that he needed to be SUPER-lyrical all of the time. Like he was constantly trying to prove his superior skills at the expense of listenable music.

A track like Headlights actually couldve worked if he wasnt doing double-triple times awkward flowing throughout the whole joint. If he slowed down a bit, the emotion in the song would have more room to breathe.

Still, I was a fan of the original and can definitely see some brilliance on this album. The Rick Rubin touch is actually nice, Em is an old white guy and to hear him over classic rock is more appropriate than YMCMB beats. He also namedrops more 80s-early 90s MCs than anyone. If you shave off like 5-6 tracks this is a decent, fun album from Eminem in 2013

man don't call me crazy but i noticed this, he's trying all these similies and etendres and all this shyt the last few years .. making me wonder if this dude has or is using a ghostwriter

I could see where you're comin from. I felt the same way when I first heard that song.

I don't think he's doing it purposely though. I just think this is the flow he's on right now. Like I don't even think he would know HOW to flow like he used to. It just sounds like he's at the point where he's so amped up and he's got so much to say that he just fukkin unleashes in the booth and goes for broke.

But yea instead of tryna go so hard with the rhymes maybe he could try and take notes from his older shyt and try and flip the switch a little cause it's hard to capture that same emotional grip when he's constantly on 11 from start to finish.

But it's still a dope track and I swear that shyt almost had me like :wow:

If you don't take it too seriously, "Stronger than I was" is pretty dope :ld:

It kinda reminds me of "Playa Hater" off of LAD.

Like I said it reminds me of an 80's rock, cyndie lauper shyt, shyt makes me wanna crane kick a motherfukker all extra graceful like.

Only songs like this that he sounded really bad on was you're never over. His other "singing" songs, beautiful and hallies song especially are really dope to me, this fits right in. He coulda missed me with the extra "uhhhggs" but other than that shyt is type smooth heart felt and gives kim a voice in the ordeal after all these years. Appropriate considering the origonal had "Kim" on it.

Just in case anyone isn't a white male that listens to classic rock like me......

here is the song that So Far was sampled from

Asher Roth is probably gonna throw up when he hears himself getting dissed.

Em was a battle rapper before this shyt...a real battle rapper...when nikkas start calling themselves the GOAT, saying he fell off, etc he had no choice but to flip the switch and go all out...it's in his nature. He is penning bars to prove a point now...even on records where he could have cruised and still got hsi point across....

i love it

I actually got a chance to bump this last night a few times and I just wanna say this thread has been fukkin comedy so far. You guys listen to an album... yo lemme rephrase that... you muthafukkas SKIM through an album the moment it leaks and then act like you're the authority on the shyt. God forbid you dudes just say what's real and be like "Yo this shyt ain't for me I think I gotta pass on this shyt."

But nah, everyone's a critic. "Em ain't do this. Em ain't do that. Em did too much of this. The beats ain't that. This shyt is trash"

These nikkas won't even let the shyt sink in HALF A DAY.

This is the problem with you internet heads. Do you realize that like half the albums from back in the day that you all consider "classic" woulda got the recycle bin treatment if they were dropped today? Y'all some impatient fast food eatin type nikkas. Like if the shyt ain't instantly gratifying the shyt goes to the bin.

Maybe Em matured as an artist and as an MC and didn't put together some shyt you're supposed to consume in one listen.

It's been ONE DAY. There is no album you felt the same way about on Day 30, on Day 60, on Day 90, on Day 300... as you did on Day 1. So chill the fukk out and if the shyt is that wack to you then just move the fukk on. But if you're gonna listen to the shyt a bunch of times just to reaffirm how much you hate the shyt then what's the point.
I do admit on first listen I'm not feeling the album. But I respect this post a lot. We've became critics instead of fans. It's because everything is waaaay too available. I'll admit that im a strong critic towards the music that I listen too. Especially artists I'm a fan of. I can't help having some sort of expectations. But yea if im not feeling it I just move on. But if im passionate I'll express it. Im far from a hater. I didnt have expectations leading up to this album. Its just that its "eminem" we would hold him to a higher standard. But I feel what u sayin though.
