I look at encore as a collision of all 3 trying to fight for space which in the end just burned him out. You got him still trying to work that aftermath formula with the goofy shyt and seemingly being fed up with it, yet all people want is MORE.

After the curtains come up Evil Deeds comes on, and right away the album is tense and desperate, he want's to chill out, TES was kind of a play on the truman show so what's the aftermath of all that? It's back to confusion/distortion. I honestly don't think he wanted to put that album out, which is why some of the tracks, especially the slim shady oriented ones were just him goofing off.

I'm not saying that he wasn't tapped/tired or that he couldn't have put out a better album but the problem wasn't lack of skill, it was lack of interest, his heart wasn't in it and he says so on the first track.

I think he started to understand how much he was being used, 50 even hinted at how people at the label would talk shyt about him behind his back while he was feeding everybody with his presence...curtain call comes out and he "kills shady" in video...and then he just up's and disappears?

Now I know why "When I'm Gone" is one of my favorite Em songs now. It can be argued, besides his daughter, it's about him coming out of all of that chaos on "Encore."

"Encore" is obviously an extension of "The Eminem Show" which is why the covers are basically the same.

It's not so obvious with the songs/content. A bunch of the songs are goofy/retarded and seem more slim shady like (although not quite the same)
