I dont think Mobley currently is worth supermax. Mitchell either. Only rookies from that class is potentially worth supermax so far is Cade. I dont even think he’s worth it currently but he’s the closet. I thought Sengun was going grow into that supermax player but he’s regressed this year.Maybe 12 players at the most are super max players. Mobley is about to make all nba this year and will get paid his next contract.
2 all NBAs within three years should be the threshold for super max players. Better yet three within 5 years.
Being a top 15 player for 3 years is good enough to get that 35% cap space.
Me personally my philosophy would be I wouldn’t supermax a player until they’re in their prime. So I would start to sign a player to supermax at age 25 and only up to age 33. Very rarely is a 34 year old is going to carry a team to championship team. They’re going to need a lot of help.
