At least there was potential with Embiid and Paul George. Bradley Beal was never that dude ever, so giving him that type of money along with the NTC made his contract the WOAT as soon as he signed on the dotted line. The only person dumber than the idiot that gave him that contract was the idiot that traded assets for it.
They’ll get max money, not max years.
Wizards GM got fired after giving Beal that deal. Morey probably about to get fired partially for the PG deal. Fired GMs rarely get another opportunity to be GM. GMs aren’t going to risk their multi million dollar per year salaries like that anymore on injury prone stars.

It’s Not just injury prone players that aren’t worth these deals but even healthy players. Ingram is not a super max player. Neither is Booker. Beal even with good health was never worth it. It’s only really a handful of players in the league worth 50 mill a year.

Agreed but Booker and Ingram are still under 30 and their current contracts end when they’re 30-31. The argument that the money has to be spent on someone is more justifiable with under 30 players.

Retired players should see more and medical benefits should be higher. Players get 49-51% of the revenue??? Spread the fukking wealth instead of paying bums like Beal 50M+.

2 all NBAs within three years should be the threshold for super max players. Better yet three within 5 years.
Being a top 15 player for 3 years is good enough to get that 35% cap space.

take off the max but keep the cap and veteran minimums based on years of service. If you wanna pay Bron 80 million, go ahead, but you only leave 90 million for the rest of the team and another 20 million will put you over the 2nd apron. No more "forced" to pay a max number.
