his MMA run was embarassing, and while I'll make fun of him for that and his general attitude at times, I can't deny he was an amazing pro wrestler. I'll always hope he comes back.

Damien Sandow said he was gonna change THE VERY FOUNDATION OF THIS BUSINESS.

He's someone to keep in mind when evaluating whether guys the internet likes should actually get a big push. The internet legitimately wanted this guy to get a big push because he was getting pops with the Mizdow stunt double gimmick.

People wanted and he should have got a push before mizdow. His intellectual saviour of the masses gimmick was fantastic, he played it well, his mic work was fantastic and his ring work was good. They then gave him the briefcase, in one of the best circumstances by having him push his tag team partner Cody off the ladder, but then they botched the cody feud, and then botched his MITB run. They then gave him the Mizdow character which should have buried him and im convinced was an attempt to bury him because he was getting over, but he somehow managed to get even more over with that stunt double gimmick. If i was Sandow i would have been demotivated too because he did everything right in WWE.

Of all the guys that didn't immediately just fade away into local indie obscurity, Sandow has to be the worst in recent memory. He had so much hype on the internet and then he promised to change the industry and TNA was going to give him free reign to be as creative as he wanted and he came up with....a Liberace gimmick in 2017 After he stopped working out entirely for a year. Then retired.

It would have been like Zach Ryder at the height of his popularity in 2012-2013ish leaving WWE and immediately picking up like...an Andy Warhol gimmick and retiring 3 months later.
