The funny thing is he tried to cancel the purchase towards the end cause he saw he got fukked about something (maybe the number of bots or something like that?).

The courts forced him to complete the purchase and all the liberals were laughing....

I think even people on here were laughing :francis:

I personally don't think he was playing the long game. I think Elon was always a little off but he is a very audacious guy and for a while was celebrated for it. But at some point I forgot when, he fell out of grace with the left and i think his ego made him want to show people from the left "oh y'all don't fukk with me anymore? Well then fukk y'all" and he double and triple down on the right.

So i think he said he would buy twitter as a half joke but then he figured it would be funny if he actually did it (remember this is the same guy who had the Boring company with all its weird projects). I don't think it was deeper than that at first. The reason i don't think he was playing the long game is that he tried to back out. I think once he realized he was gonna be force to follow through, he just said fukk it, lets make lemonade out of this lemon.

So yeah, i think as time went on, he saw how things were evolving and played the cards he had at the moment going all in.

A lot of y’all said it was ‘just the internet’ though.

that's when you know something is both harmful and powerful. Folks that use/consume it downplay it as much as possible when it's use/consumption is criticized.

The only people who say stuff like "It's just the internet"? People on the internet.

Of course the ATL
A lot of yall said it was an idiotic move

That nikka pulled a hell of a power move

Yea he overpaid for it but it’s a much bigger play for Elon geopolitically

-Influenced the election via misinformation for his preferred candidate. Check
-Will both directly & indirectly influence this administration. He’s already on calls with Zelensky & Trump. President Xi is next (Elon wants to expand Tesla into China) Check

The real question is what’s the price of power? If it takes spending billions buying Twitter and influencing American elections then the answer is whatever it takes and in that case Elon won
