In Duffy's case, he's literally saying the 60 people dying in that crash is the only reason why he had Elon hold off.

Like it's purely a timing thing for him....."lotta bad PR, now's not the time"

fukk safety, fukk common sense, etc......................... but bad publicity?
That’s all it boils down to for these people. Running government like a business means they only care when it’s overwhelmingly bad PR.

People at work were literally talking about this and it sadly makes sense

Because of that crash, we might get a raise and don’t get into this entire federal cuts issue and try and get the admin to slash our jobs

I really wonder if that DC accident didn’t happen, what happens with ATC. Obviously they couldn’t fire controllers but they def could have tried

The confrontation escalated when Musk reportedly suggested that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) hires were in control towers, though he did not provide details when challenged by Duffy.

This is what happens when you take twitter troll talking points and try to use them in real life, in a major department like the FAA.

DEI in the control towers? Where's your proof? Were you part of the hiring team? Do you know all of their credentials?

I said it before and I'll say it again, once Musk gets what he wants he will slowly exit through the back door and leave this mess to the dems/reps to deal with.

They got us in a weird spot lol.

“If you’re being told to do the email, then you should be given time to do it. But you don’t have to do it. Unless instructed to do it.” Lol

It’s like a comedy skit

I’ve been saying Musk is not the Tony Stark genius the media was trying to paint him as, but I didn’t think he was this stupid.

There is nothing that he can extract from the federal government that can make up for the wealth that he is setting on fire by destroying the Tesla brand. I mean Tesla’s market cap was bound to crater at some point, but I thought he would keep the con going ling enough so he could cash out. :heh:

This is just a bigger version of Kanye setting fire to his empire. This man is either crazy or he is running on pure hubris and Ketamine.

Either way he is missing himself and all for it.

They probably would've went thru the list of trainees with no certs and checked for any "Lorenzo's, Khadijah's, and Jamal's" :francis:

I got mixed opinions on the bolded.......part of me feels that we should stand 'in solidarity' with the other fields that get less publicity or don't have as much 'power/influence', because it starts with something like TSA or Forest workers, but surely as time goes on they'll start weakening, worsening, cutting other fields of work/labor.

Other part of me saw how NATCA handled the past couple of weeks :beli:.......if "smaller/less important" unions were looking for a signal from NATCA, they may be better off finding their own way thru this fight. Cause appeasing/hiding from the bully til he finally decides to pick on you ain't it.

It's extremely odd...because usually it's management & controllers on generally two 'opposing' sides.

In this case......controllers are safety critical, management does have bloat (I'm not one of the ones looking to get rid of "scammers"), not a lot, but obviously they are not as safety critical.....so it would be their jobs on the line. So you would think this would be the one time that they actually 'collaborate' with us and push back against all this shyt.

But some are still helping the shyt roll down hill, even if in this case, they are the bottom of the hill. :dahell:

Wild shyt is.....the whole hiring process got harder imo. 2012 & eariler versions of the ATSA (entry test) were fairly easy. The revamped ATSA is muuuuch tougher.

But more importantly, they removed a portion from the hiring process after 2012, that essentially allowed for nepotism of an already primarily white labor force. So instead of the best candidates getting a shot to prove themselves.....it was a neighborhood kid, or a nephew, son of, etc. The anti-'DEI' push is just a part of a historical narrative shell game.
