Yup. Like I read right now they’re trying to put in an “investigation” into D.O.G.E’s responsibilities because nobody on the outside knows what it is.

But DOGE is nevertheless poised to help restructure the federal government and perhaps upend decades of regulation of everything from vehicle safety to space exploration.

Those guys can basically do what they want. If they took another Cabinet position then their scope is limited. Everyone else is happy being “rewarded” by the titles of their roles, but those two went for pure power.

It was one of the first positions announced and how quick it came together indicates to me that it was carefully planned by them. I remember that Trump even told Elon that he’d have some high-position role on the cabinet (can’t remember what it was) before Elon basically bought him out. They had the choice of all those other roles easy and turned them down.
