I've been in tech for a long time. And never seen Indians act as bold as they do now. They know the coveted job or promotion will go to one of them. When job cuts happen they can mostly rest easy and not worry about it. Meanwhile cacs and every other race are sweating bullets during each layoff round.
The biggest mistake I see US tech workers make is not treating these jobs as disposable. That's why so many get caught off guard when shown the door and forced to train their Indian replacements. People who criticized me for job hopping got laid off and replaced by those same companies. What did all that loyalty get you?
I never viewed this field as anything more than a cash grab. Get in make as much money as possible and then prepare for career after tech. Because all those huge salaries, bonuses and perks are just about done.
