Yea but this is different. Most H1Bs are just as average as Americans. This is not about importing top talent but getting a mass amount of people to get the job done that can be easily exploited.

The H1B system should be bid based IMHO. Limit the amount and let firms bid for the the spots the want. If the people are that valuable for you, then bid an amount up to their value.

I’d like to see how many foreign graduates of US institutions get to stay after graduation on H1-Bs. So I half agree with you, America graduates a lot of smart people from many backgrounds, but there’s more to the overall picture
