Update - Republican Towamencin Township Supervisor Laura Smith, who is facing national and international backlash for her now-deleted viral TikTok video mimicking an alleged Nazi salute much like Elon Musk at the Presidential Inauguration, has resigned as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library and as a board member of the Knights for Life nonprofit.
On Saturday morning, the Board of Trustees posted an announcement to Facebook stating it has accepted Smith's resignation, due to her conduct "that does not align with the library's values."
