It’s really more the feeling of being robbed plus the inconvenience of having to deal with an insurance company. Also some people only have liability and need their car for work or medical appointments.
Car thieves are the scum of the earth. I remember when my husband’s car was broken into and stolen like 21 years ago. They drove it around and crashed it and abandoned it but stole all his CDs, the stereo, etc. I will never forget the look on his face when he came back upstairs to say his car was gone and the only thing left was glass on the road. It definitely changed him.
