You considered the past Brazil world cup to to be joga bonito style? Please..to me they played like euros...if anything they lacked and have been lacking the joga bonito style...that same style has garnered 5 world cups...now its a problem?

Na, nor did i say that, but that loss really shook things up and made us realize how far behind we actually were.

I guess the last "beautiful" team, despite doing nothing, was the 2006 team with Dinho, Ronaldo, Kaka, Adriano and Robinho

Central defense was the lone bright spot minus Cameron going to sleep on the Zapata goal.. Wing defense was spotty, but not punished. Zardes, with his inconsistent touch and all, was the only person moving the ball through Colombia's defense. Bradley was shyt, Jones was equally shyt. Long balls are inaccurate and nobody else in the midfield can hold on to the ball under pressure. The quality balls that were delivered, Dempsey didn't do anything with them; Wood had ONE quality ball (and he was called off-sides when he was on).

Lastly, it's evident that Fabian Johnson detests playing LB. He'll continue to half-ass it as long as he's on the pitch.
I will say I hated the long balls no build up play, I agree with jones and Bradley they seem to always play like poop. Long balls to Zardes or give him space. Wood and Dempsey are better at making it than him.

Arrogance.

America looked the way we usually do against a more talented side. Scared to move, tentative with passing, settling for the easy hoof upfield instead of stringing together some passes. Columbia sussed out the lack of firepower in the American attack, sat in 2nd gear the entire match, and played out passing drills when they were in possession. Cuadrado in particular looked like he was using the 90 minutes to do all of the things he's not allowed to do at Juventus.

I would love if someone who could coach tactics would take over as manager and Jurgen would continue to assist in growing the game here in other ways. Jurgen has too much power in the current setup.
