Im not afraid to die...im afraid of living on this earth in pain/suffering for an extended period of time. aka, a stroke...or any of the other random things we are exposed to, specifically as we age

Death will be a reward in that case, IMO...eternal sleep :ahh:

I shouldn't have typed it like that.

Not every christian is "afraid to die".

Other people of other religions are afraid to die, too.

People from all walks of life are afraid to die.

I'm saying that if your religion preaches a better place that you'll go to as a reward after you die, why be afraid of dying?

Also note that there are plenty of religions that teach a better or worse place based on what your life is like.

I'm a muslim... I'm not afraid at all and am probably one of the few on here that has been in situations that prove that.

At the same time, some can make the argument that it's foolish to not be afraid... its human nature, most of the time you can't control human nature. The type of person who is afraid will be afraid regardless of beliefs in the afterlife. An Idea of heaven does nothing to calm ur fear.

Some of the most pus.sy posters on here talking bout, "i dont care, I just blah blah blah blah blah" gtfoh.. because if the situation comes up - you will for sure be afraid to die; as most people are. You are simply saying you aren't afraid because more than likely you will live out ur life and ur death isn't' in the near future.

I actually developed that view because of the opposite.

But hey, I'm just another poster on a message board pretending to be something I'm obviously not....

right?

Yeah, just because my family depends on me. My life insurance won't make up for a lifetime of wages.

afraid of death? yes, but mostly because i dont want to leave my loved ones and i dont know for sure where ill end up.

but the fear of my own death is easily overshadowed by the depression of having to live on while i see my loved ones pass away.

if i die and my spirit lives on traveling the universe, im :stylin:
if i die and my spirit dies with my body, it aint like i can "feel" anyway

but living to see everyone i've ever cared about die......:to:

Nope, bring it on. At least, I have the solace knowing I will see my loved ones again, and won't be alone:blessed:

if you love your life, it's hard not to fear death. likewise, if you have nothing to live for -- no friends, no family, no vision of a future family (i.e. your own kids, wife, etc.) -- death would be easier to handle, perhaps even a welcome emancipation from the drudgery of living a lonely, meaningless existence.

I would turn it around and say: You can be sure that the person who fears death likely isnt actually 'living' and enjoying their life. If you are actually engaged in the activity of living so completely, and enjoying it... what room is there to be concerned about death... let alone fear it? - :whoo:

of course! bein close to death is scary as shyt. you'll see when (if you see it comin) it happens to you

..Also what do we mean when we say 'death is scary?' is death actually a "something" apart from "life?" And how can we be afraid of something we dont even know? or perhaps that is the reason why we fear it - because we don't know it? ..We fear the unknown?

you should be afraid to die like you're afraid of taking your next shyt. You're going to do it anyway. Why be afraid of doing something you have no choice in doing?

Because of uncertainty? Because you don't know what's going to happen afterwards?

Well... you don't know what's going to happen after your next shyt, either. You think you're simply going to wipe your ass and flush.

  • You might see a spider and freak the fukk out.
  • How the fukk did that wasp get in here!?
  • The little plastic bolts may break and the toilet seat may slide to the right.
  • The chain on the handle thingy inside the tank may break after years of sitting in rusty water and the toilet might not flush.
  • The toilet may not flush because you just dropped Leviathan out of your ass and tried to bury it with half a roll of toilet paper.
  • You might look to the right and discover there's no toilet paper!
  • The lights may go out!
  • All of the above may happen and THEN the lights may go out!

And that's not even getting into the things that may or may not happen OUTSIDE of the bathroom. I'm not going to get into it.

I'm just elaborating the fact that you don't know. And neither do I.

It's shytting. You're gonna do it. You don't know what's going to happen when you do. It's better to take a shyt without giving one.

So I don't.

The only question that you should worry about is.... how much will it hurt when you take it? :whoa::sadcam:

Comparing death to taking a shyt your logic no longer holds any shred of credibility :what:
