Romans hated Germanic people, I think Northern-Western European civilization have never really gotten over that so they overcompensate. Look at the Gothic Cathedrals which begin to emerge in the early middle ages, copying the blueprint of byzantine temples but adding these soaring spires as if to say "damn you was the man, what happened"
German philosophers and theologians have always been aware of a certain insecurity in the Northern European psyche, this insecurity caused the world wars, genocide etc If any public intellectual discussed this openly it would get very uncomfortable and awkward. This insecurity also causes the countries that emerged from this civilization to constantly be at war with each other which is why organizations have to be created to maintain peace between them NATO & European EU.
If there is such thing as the end of western civilization it won't be because of muslims, immigrants or black people. It will end by the hands from the very same people beating their chest about the end of the west they have always been their own worst enemy.
After the fall of Rome, Europe was never peaceful I literally don't have time to list all the wars and civil wars on that took place on that continent. Europe's great stroke of luck was that they matured as a civilization as the printing press was invented, which is why they have always had great marketing. What is the first thing they did with the printing press: THE REFORMATION. Led by Martin Luther they divorced Christianity from it's Roman roots and by proxy it's even more ancient semitic roots and made it a white northern european religion.

shyts beautiful to see. Europeans didn't become civilized until Rome fell and took their foot their necks. The greeks invented the word or root word of "barbarian" to describe all non greeks. When the Romans took over, they almost exclusively used it to describe Northern European tribes.
