Edge wins the Rumble. Your thoughts?

How many people actually won the Rumble from #1 (and #2, because they are basically the same thing)?

HBK, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rey Mysterio, and ???

Austin never won it at 1, Vince did at 2.

Only Shawn, he who shall not be named (Ben...), and now Edge have won it at 1.
Vince and Mysterio have won it at 2.

Undertaker, Cena, and HHH have won it at 30.

I'll live with it. But decisions like that is why talent continue to get held down.

Edge facing roman/drew... what does that accomplish? What a good time to try and make another star or finally give a long tenured talent a much needed rub like cesaro/big e(but I soured on this after he won the Ic title) but nah let's give it to EDGE.


And how many times are they gonna give Braun the typical "oh he's big and tall he's the #1 favorite" but then gets eliminated? Heck they could have given him the win . Stroman and reigns destroying Raymond James stadium would have been a sight to see

Wasted spot. He's washed and ran the gauntlet so all the current guys look weak. An old heel should only do that with fukkery. He's not a good underdog as he just laid around for an hour and then won.

They didn't even play up the #1 narrative so I don't get why waste it on Edge tonight.

I don't watch full time but wasn't the base of Edge's RR hype this year simply a pre-taped promo from him saying he was entering and that was it?
They might as well have given him the #3 spot because that's historically the worst spot to be at in a men's Rumble according to what Cole said tonight when Sami entered.

LOL I hear ya but history books show McMahon as the winner no matter what happened next.

I count 1 and 2 all the same so for me, it's 5 people who have won it at the "worst spot to enter a RR" which to me is running it to the ground. This is simply me trying to look at it from a 'realistic' perspective though.

There's a reason why only two #6 seeds have won the Super Bowl in the NFL's 55 year history and why zero #8 seeds have ever won the NBA Finals. It's suppose to be near impossible to achieve. That's how I would like to think the odds should be for the Royal Rumble, but I understand this is entertainment.

Either way, I feel they wasted the #1 narrative this year because they never really built it up with Edge. They must've really wanted to say "the last person to win it at #1" again without having to hide that it was Benoit.

I vote Whatever. I don’t really have too big a beef with Edge winning.

But WWE has run the “#1 entrant wins the Royal Rumble” narrative to the ground. At this point, WWE has overdone it so much that superstars should WANT to be #1. You have better odds of winning the Rumble at 1 than you do at 30 based off WWE’s booking

It's to appease the work rate loving fans. You're right the Rumble is about the winner not which spot they started at.

Edge is an easy story to write.. Edge vs Roman. spear vs spear.. and he was the biggest star in the match. Obvious choice


People seem to think he’s facing Drew. Lol.. Drew and Sheamus will obviously be the RAW main event

With a roster filled with allegedly the most talented wrestlers of all-time, they go to a 49-year old under drawing champion from 15 years ago to showcase at Wrestlemania. Really building for the future, huh
