With Roman and Drew being champs, they could've given the Rumble to any good babyface or heel from the full time roster. Big E being the most obvious face choice...not sure there's a good full time heel choice to wrestle Drew, and I haven't watched RAW in more than a year so can't really expand much there.
But anyways, watching the Rumble. The final 6 were Bryan, Riddle, Edge, Christian, Rollins and Strowman (Orton kinda doesn't count as he was just a swerve device for the ending).
None of them needed a Rumble win but at least Bryan and Riddle are interesting choices for title matches at Mania.
Edge winning does nothing to anybody. Roman won't be a bigger star by beating him (and he would look like a joke getting beat by him) and Drew just beat Goldberg in 3 minutes and comes from beating Brock last year....Edge is not someone that will legitimize him more than those to Ws (and again, losing your belt to Edge in 2021 destroys whoever is the champ).
At the end of the day, this was just another nostalgia pick and a bizarre "thanks for coming back pal" nod from Vince. It's really stupid that the people that get the most rewarded are old motherfukkers that Cokeboy feels the need to give them stuff so they can feel appreciated by him/the company.
I've only kept up with Bryan and some of Reign's stuff on SD, and I'll get back to that. This company does not deserve anyone's attention let alone a full commitment to watching
only thing keeping me from letting go completely is my blind stanning for D-Bry.
