:comeon: Kendrick drops one song using a mustard beat and all of a sudden he’s known for making regional LA sounding music…meanwhile the biggest singles from his last album were produced by noted west coast legend Boi1da, hailing from (checks notes) TORONTO CANADA …who rose to fame as “an in-house producer for Drake's OVO Sound label” according to the first sentence in his wiki bio

So when Drake sounded jamacian or like he was from London that was normal? What kendrick did doesn't matter in a Drake thread? Or he upset you that much? But let's circle back, those accents were normal, crodie?

normal for a Toronto nikka? Ummm, actually yeah…the whole mixing Jamaican and UK slang is kinda their whole thing…

“The Toronto Accent refers to accent and slang most commonly found in the city of Toronto in Canada. The accent has been described as a mix of North American slang, British slang, and Jamaican Patois.”

The angle here would be to lean on Drake using Memphis or Houston or ATL regional influences…but then you may start to realize he is more in tuned with black musical contemporary sounds than probably any one artist of the last decade plus…and had he not been the definitive artist of his generation could’ve made for a GOAT level A&R…it’s not an accident Kenny randomly is going to his in house producer looking for “hits”

This is a fact.

Nipsey was buzzing way more than Kendrick in LA before he passed away. Kendrick wasn’t making west coast sounding music, and he was forced into a corner to make the one has out now

Except it's documented in plain sight Drake called the slang ignorant :comeon:

I got fam in Toronto and nikkas mixing the Jamaican slang is one thing but the British angle is a reach. Nikkas like Drake try use angles like this as a justification to shark another sound (UK shyt).

Jane & Finch ain't nothing like Peckham :unimpressed:

These same goofs used to praise this shyt and say he had something for everybody. Now this. This nikka Ebro is a whole Oakland nikka that try to act and sound like he from New York. "My G". nikka shut the fukk up. Lol. This shyt done went into corny territory. Same goofy nikka who was willing to play Drake music over native NY nikkas shyt on Hot 97. And tried to JUSTIFY that shyt. They even smoking this nikka in the comment section. The industry full of shyt.

Post some “regional” production from Boi1da. Everything I remember him from was pretty region-less and contemporary. A blend of what every one else was doing. “Best I ever had” kind of reminded me of some of the older stuff Kardinal Offishall’s used to be on. I think that’s kind of regional. What else?
Best I ever had kinda reminded me of some of K-OS music
