Harsh reality. Deep East Oakland ain't the place to be. shyt makes Compton look like Calabasas.
If you were truly in east oakland then that means you saw nothing but mostly black people, with a decent amount of Mexicans too and a handful of Asians depending on what block you were on. Im glad you felt safe. Thats how you are supposed to feel in the Bayjust came from east oakland it ain't that bad, I can barely consider it hood compared to places in the midwest and the eastcoast, the gentrification and high rent are the only problems I see

Key word in my statement is Deep East Oakland. From 65th to 105th that shyt is an eye sore...especially on International/E-14.
