CO-OP aside, if you're someone who's mind was blown away with DS3 on PS2, Origins brings back those vibes.


This damn near would already wrap up GOTY for me if they had CO-OP. They successfully used technology to replicate that childhood imagination/power trip of being 1 vs 1,000 on this one. If only they coulda made it so that it was you and your best friend vs. 2,000 like when we were kids

I'm trying to tell people the game is LEGIT. I it's a hard sell for most people since it's seems like "just another dynasty warriors game" but it's a probably going to be a huge turning point in the series with how they make the games if they keep going with this formula.

Agreed. However I can't emphasize enough how CO-OP would have GOAT'D this game. I hope they eventually patch it in and don't give us DO2 with CO-OP being the only major update.


But they probably will and will still get this $70 because this game with CO-OP would be one of the GOATs to me. I already woulda made the thread but fukk KOEI for making this a single player game.

As a kid, playing the DW3 demo over and over enough to know how I could run down Meng Huo and his wife before the time ran out

Then finally playing the full game months later?

As a long time fan I think I need to explain myself. In my last posts I was talking about Dynasty Warriors Origins and not the game this thread was originally about. I don't remember playing that at all. I had forgotten about that game. When I saw this thread bumped I was confused and thought it was about the new game. Speaking of the new game, I rage deleted the demo because when I was trying to learn the controls it said I lost because one of the generals died. Add to the fact that while it was giving me tips, it would not pause the action. The tips would go by so fast I couldn't even read that shyt. That shyt had me livid. That's a bad User Interface. I had this same issue with Wuthering Waves. I'm thinking man wtf is wrong with these developers? In comparison, Zenless Zone Zero and Tower of Fantasy have way better tutorial... anyway...

8XL still the GOAT to me, but I haven't checked out Origins yet. How bad is the whole custom character bs? Can you still play the classic story?

The gameplay is dope and gives you that tried and true formula of beating up waves of jobbers as you get stronger and stronger until eventually running into a boss that tests your might. The graphics look great my main issue is the cutscenes are frequent and plenty. It's a chore to get through; I was trying not to just smash A through it on stream but it may have to come to just that.

Considering playing a lil bit more and dropping a review after, solid release so far.
